PM 5986 Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps & Compressors

Overview

Our replacement liquid ring vacuum pumps and compressors are engineered for rugged, continuous industrial duty — providing reliable performance in wet-gas, vapor-laden, and condensate-carry environments. Designed to be fully compatible with the Somarakis® SV-series and HV-series models, they offer seamless interchangeability while delivering enhanced serviceability, sourcing transparency, and competitive value.

Key Features

  • Broad capacity range: from approximately 80 to 28,000 CFM (free dry air), and vacuum performance down to 1.0-2.0″ HgV up to flows of 28,000 CFM.
  • Compressor mode capability: up to ~50 PSIG discharge for compression service.
  • Material options including Cast Iron, Stainless Steel 304, Stainless Steel 316L, Titanium, and Hastelloy — suited for corrosive or sour-service applications.
  • Single-moving-part design (eccentric rotor + liquid ring) with no metal-to-metal sliding contact, for high reliability in demanding service.
  • Patented sealing / bearing innovations (e.g., design features such as seal water recirculation and secondary bearing support) that enhance durability and reduce downtime.
  • Full test-certified performance curves and individually tested units — ensuring you get consistent results verified at factory.

Benefits for Your Operation

  • Interchangeability: Drop-in replacement for existing Somarakis® SV/HV units — same mounting patterns, same porting, simplifying retrofit or upgrade projects.
  • Wet-gas and liquid-carry handling: The liquid ring design tolerates entrained condensate, vapour, and two-phase flows — ideal for storage tank vapour recovery, refinery flare gas systems, vacuum distillation, and other heavy-duty applications.
  • Material flexibility: For sour-gas, H₂S environments, or corrosive vapour streams, select from a full alloy portfolio ensuring compliance and long service life.
  • After-market support: We guarantee OEM-level parts and service availability — with options for rebuild/refurbish programs or new build units depending on budget and schedule.
  • Cost-effective value: Because we leverage our manufacturing base and a streamlined supply chain, we deliver competitive pricing with full documentation and traceability.

Typical Applications

  • Oil & gas mid-stream vapor-recovery units (VRUs) and storage-tank vent systems
  • Refinery vacuum distillation, absorber systems, and flare-gas recovery
  • Chemical and petrochemical vacuum or compression service with wet or vapour-laden streams
  • Pulp & paper dewatering, power-plant condenser vacuum systems, and environmental/vapour extraction processes
  • Food, beverage, pharmaceutical vacuum drying or packaging systems where liquid carryover is present

Technical Snapshot

How to Get Started

  1. Provide your current pump nameplate or model (for example Somarakis® SV-1414, SV-1818, SV-5986, HV-7, etc.).
  2. Send us your process conditions: vacuum level, discharge pressure (if compressor mode), gas composition (presence of H₂S or corrosives), entrained liquid load, sealing fluid condition, motor horsepower.
  3. We will propose a compatible replacement or upgrade that maintains your system’s footprint, utilities, and interface, with a quote showing the cost, lead time, and material spec.
  4. Optional: we offer on-site install support, start-up assistance, and service contracts for rebuilds or ongoing maintenance.

Note

We are independent, not affiliated with Somarakis® Inc., but we specialize in compatible replacements and upgrade paths for their equipment.
