Emergency Vacuum Pump Repair

Emergency Vacuum Pump Repair

If your liquid ring vacuum pump is down, call Ken Tittel at 713-201-1589. Precise Mechanical keeps rebuilt Nash® and Somarakis® exchange pumps on the shelf in Houston, runs rush rebuilds in our own machine shop, and manufactures drop-in replacements when a rebuild will not get you back fast enough. We ship nationwide, and the first call tells you which of those three routes is quickest for your model.

Fastest Route First

Three Ways Back to Running

01

Exchange Unit Off the Shelf

We ship a rebuilt pump from stock. You install it, ship your failed core back to Houston, and we credit the core.

Typical Fit

Nash AT1004, AT2004, AT2006; CL200 through CL14000; SC2 through SC7; L3, H4, H5; 904 series; XL80 through XL500; Somarakis SV3028 through SV5986.

02

Rush Rebuild

Your pump goes to the front of the shop schedule. Teardown and inspection begin when it arrives, with photographs and findings provided before the rebuild proceeds.

Typical Fit

Models we do not stock, pumps with special materials or configurations, or when the plant prefers its own pump back.

03

Drop-In New Pump

A Precise-manufactured replacement built to match the original footprint, flanges and shaft with minimal or no piping or baseplate modification.

Typical Fit

Pumps past rebuilding, obsolete series, or when an exchange unit is not in stock.

Most emergency calls end with option 1 when the model is on the shelf. When it is not, we tell you immediately and start on option 2 or 3 instead of leaving you waiting.

01
Fastest When Available

Exchange Unit

An exchange pump is a complete, rebuilt unit that has already been through our seven-step repair process. The point is that the rebuilding time has already been spent.

When you call, we confirm the model, verify the rotation, materials and flange configuration against yours, and ship. Your failed pump comes back to us as the core.

02
When Your Pump Needs to Come Back

Rush Rebuild

When the model is not stocked, or the plant wants its own pump back, we move your pump to the front of the shop schedule.

The day it arrives it is torn down, measured and photographed, and you get a findings report with a firm quote. Cone and rotor machining, stainless cladding, cast iron welding and shaft work all happen under one roof, which is what makes a rush possible. There is no waiting on an outside machine shop.

03
When Rebuilding No Longer Makes Sense

Drop-In New Pump

If teardown shows a cracked casing, a rotor beyond repair, or a series with no parts available, a rebuild stops being the fast route.

Precise manufactures drop-in replacements for Nash CL, 2BE, AT, SC, 904 and HC series, and PM 5986 pumps compatible with Somarakis SV and HV series. They match the original mounting and connections so your piping stays where it is.

Before the Pump Ships

While You Are Waiting on the Call

Do Not Run the Pump Dry

Do not run the pump dry or without seal water to nurse it along. That turns a rebuildable rotor into scrap.

Photograph the Pump

Photograph the nameplate, coupling end and discharge, and note what you saw before it failed: vibration, high amps, loss of vacuum, seal leak or noise.

Get Shipping Information Ready

Get the pump's weight and dimensions to us early, and say whether you need a lift arranged at your end.

No Shortcuts

What We Do Not Do on an Emergency

We do not guess. A rush pump still gets a full teardown and measured inspection before we quote, because a rushed rebuild that fails in a month is worse than no rebuild.

If an exchange unit is the cheaper fix, we say so.

  • Frequently Asked Questions:

My vacuum pump is down. What is the fastest way to get running?

Call 713-201-1589 with the make, model and serial number. If we have a rebuilt exchange unit for your model on the shelf in Houston, that ships first and your failed pump comes back as the core. If not, we start a rush rebuild or build a drop-in replacement.

Which exchange pumps do you keep in stock for emergencies?

    A: Nash AT1004, AT2004 and AT2006; CL200 through CL14000; SC2 through SC7; L3, H4 and H5; 904 series; XL80 through XL500; and Somarakis SV3028 through SV5986. Stock changes, so call to confirm your model.

Can you rush a rebuild if my model is not in stock?
Yes. Rush rebuilds move to the front of the shop schedule and are torn down and inspected the day they arrive. Because machining, cladding and welding are all done in-house, we do not wait on outside vendors.

What if my pump is too damaged to rebuild?

We tell you at teardown, with photographs, and quote a drop-in replacement alongside. Precise manufactures replacements for Nash CL, 2BE, AT, SC, 904 and HC series and for Somarakis SV and HV series that match the original footprint and connections.

Do you ship emergency pumps outside Texas?

Yes. Exchange and replacement pumps ship by freight from Houston to plants anywhere in the United States. We can arrange the carrier and, if needed, a lift at your end.
