Precise Mechanical is an independent industrial vacuum pump repair shop at 2414 Black Gold Ct, Houston, TX 77073, off I-45 north near Bush Intercontinental Airport. We rebuild, exchange and manufacture liquid ring vacuum pumps for refineries, chemical plants, power stations and paper mills along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast, and we ship rebuilt, exchange and new pumps to plants nationwide. Over 40 years of liquid ring vacuum pump work, one location, everything done in-house.
Our shop sits on the north side of Houston, with direct access to I-45 and the Beltway, which puts most of the petrochemical corridor from Baytown to Freeport within a short truck run and keeps freight to the rest of the country simple. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and the emergency line reaches Ken at 713-201-1589 outside those hours.
Everything happens under one roof: teardown and inspection, cast iron repair and welding, stainless steel cladding, machining, assembly, painting and final inspection. The machine tools are sized for the largest liquid ring pumps in service.
That capacity is why a plant does not have to choose between a local shop and a capable one. A CL14000 casing or a large Somarakis® rotor is machined here, not subcontracted out.

Refinery and chemical work tends toward corrosion and compressor-mode wear, where our 304L and 316L stainless steel cladding and alternative materials apply. Paper mill work tends toward scale, fiber and seal water damage, which is covered on the paper mill vacuum pump repair page.
Beyond the coast, we serve plants throughout Texas: petrochemical and power facilities in the Golden Triangle, paper and wood products mills in the Piney Woods, refining and gas processing in the Permian Basin and the Panhandle, and general industrial users in Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin. Rebuilds, exchange units and new drop-in replacements ship to mills and plants across the country, and the process is the same regardless of distance.
Drain the pump, blank or cover the flanges, and secure it to a skid or in a crate rated for its weight. Ship to 2414 Black Gold Ct, Houston, TX 77073, and send us the nameplate data and a description of the problem ahead of it so inspection starts the day it lands.
Rebuilt, exchange and new pumps are drained, flanges blanked, exposed machined surfaces protected, and the pump is bolted to a skid or crated for LTL or flatbed freight, depending on size. Large-frame pumps ship on a flatbed with the pump blocked and strapped.
We can ship to a rigging contractor or directly to the plant gate, and we include the shipping weight and lifting points on the paperwork.
Because exchange pumps are on the shelf, the outbound leg is the only wait. The failed core ships back to Houston after the changeout on the same kind of crate, and core credit is applied when it arrives.
View Exchange ProgramA paper mill in Georgia or Washington has closer machine shops. They send pumps to Houston for three reasons that a general machine shop cannot offer together.
When a core is beyond repair or the OEM no longer supports the frame, we build a new pump to the original footprint for the Nash CL, 2BE, AT, SC, 904 and HC series and for Somarakis SV and HV pumps. The mill gets one supplier for repair, replacement and parts.
Nash CL200 through CL14000, SC2 through SC7, AT1004 through AT2006, 904 and XL series, and Somarakis SV3028 through SV5986. For a mill without a spare, the exchange unit is the difference between a two-day freight lane and a multi-week rebuild.
A 120 in. boring mill, lathes to 240 in. between centers and a 400-ton press mean the largest paper machine pumps are machined in-house. Cast iron repair, welding and 304L/316L cladding are done in the same building.
Cast iron repair is considered by many to be a lost art. Precise Mechanical performs these operations on a daily basis.
